Transit Shuttle Service – FAQs

Q: Are Transit buse able to continue using Univeristy Bridge during the closure?

A: Transit buses will continue to cross the University Bridge as usual between Monday and Friday. On weekends only, Transit will offer a shuttle service (#200) every 15 minutes between the Downtown Terminal and Place Riel (University of Saskatchewan). The University Bridge will be closed to all vehicles, including Transit, for approximately 6 to 8 weekends during summer 2015 to conduct work that extends over all bridge lanes. During these weekends, the Transit shuttle (#200) between the Downtown Terminal and Place Riel will continue via Broadway Bridge.

Q: Aside from using Broadway Bridge instead of University Bridge, will the shuttle work exactly the same?

A: The shuttle via Broadway Bridge will continue to run between the Downtown Terminal and Place Riel (University of Saskatchewan) every 15 minutes. Transit riders can expect this alternate route to add about 10 minutes to their commute during times of standard traffic congestion.

Q: Will the shuttle via Broadway Bridge make stops along the route?

A: In order to minimize delays, the alternate shuttle via Broadway will only stop at the Downtown Terminal, at Broadway Avenue and 12th Street, and at Place Riel (University of Saskatchewan). This means some stops won’t be pick-up/drop-off locations for the shuttle (#200), however, they will continue to have service by other buses. Standard Transit service signage will be posted at impacted stops with directions to the next nearest stop.

Q: Will the shuttle via Broadway Bridge make stops along the route?

ATransit customers can check to see if the alternate shuttle via Broadway is in effect by visiting either transit.saskatoon.ca/bridge or by following any of the following City social media accounts:

Additionally, Customer Service agents will be out assisting Transit riders and standard redirect signage will be posted at any impacted stops. It’s important to note that, in order to avoid undue confusion, the online Transit Trip Planner will not include routing information for the alternate shuttle via Broadway.
