Requirement to Become a Bus Operator 

1. We require at minimum a class 2A Learner’s License

While we do hire individuals with a class 2A Learner’s License; a full class 2A or class 1A license is required before your 5-week training program is completed. 

2. Save driving record 

As part of your interview process, we will require a review of your current driver’s abstract which can be obtained from SGI.  

3. Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check 

Before starting your first day of work, we will require you to complete a Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check. If you do have a Criminal Record  this does not necessarily exclude you from working as a Bus Operator. We review candidates record on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the standards of the position. This means that if you have a criminal record, it may not prevent you from working with Saskatoon Transit.
