Safety & Security
Saskatoon Transit takes the safety and security of our customers and operators very seriously. We have a zero tolerance policy towards physical and verbal abuse towards anyone on the bus, including the operator. Non-compliance will result in removal from the bus, even if you haven’t reached your final destination.
We Put Safety First
Each bus is equipped with an onboard camera. These cameras are in place as a safety measure for everyone on the bus and are not used for any other reason.
Staying Safe with Saskatoon Transit
Riding Saskatoon Transit is one of the safest ways to travel around the City. Even still, there are a few things we ask of you to help ensure you remain safe at all times:
- As the bus pulls to the curb, please step back a foot or two to ensure the bus can safely arrive at the stop without causing harm to you or anyone else.
- Be smart when waiting for the bus in the dark. Stay under the light of a street lamp, where available, and avoid using a personal audio device so that you can hear what’s happening around you.
- Remember to always call 911 if you are in danger.
Audio/Visual Equipment
- “Surveillance cameras are in use for the protection of Visitors, Staff and City property. The collection of personal information through the recording of video surveillance images is authorized under section 24 of The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. If you have any questions about this surveillance, contact the City Clerk’s Office at (306) 975-3240 Monday – Friday 8-5pm.”
