Duties

Provides orientation, training, and supervision of new and existing staff in the Transit Maintenance Parts and Stores Section.
Provides assistance to mechanics and body shop personnel on ordering specific parts.
Supports electronic warranty claims related to new bus purchases and shop equipment at the direction of the Mechanical Shop Supervisor.
Processes warranty claims on parts and labour on all buses on warranty.
Determines and maintain inventory levels that affect day to day maintenance issues for the Main Shop, Access Shop and Body Shop in consultation with Mechanical Shop Supervisor and Body Shop Supervisor.
Implements and follow-up on audit recommendations for the Main and Access Stores Inventory.
Plans, supervises, and leads the requisition, purchase receipt, examination and recording of materials, supplies, tools and equipment.
Communicates with vendors and bus manufacturers to ensure that programs and commitments are completed and negotiates pricing and delivery times with vendors.
Trains and re-certifies all Maintenance staff on all Power Mobile Equipment including; forklift, skid steer, sweeper, gator and tow truck.
Processes and maintains all training records, and operator manuals for Power Mobile Equipment.
Assists in the tendering process of certain materials and supplies, including the purchase of new buses.
Orders, receives, and coordinates the conventional bus Tire program.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Grade 12 education
Successful completion of the Supply Chain Management Association of Saskatchewan's (S.C.M.A of Saskatchewan) Diploma in Supply Management.
Successful completion of, or ability to obtain within six months, a recognized Power Mobile Equipment Safety Training Certification program.
Three years' storekeeping experience, including working with a computerized inventory system.
Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
Knowledge of standard stock items.
Knowledge of stock-keeping principles and practices.
Demonstrated ability to maintain required records.
Demonstrated ability to deal courteously and effectively with carriers, contractors and civic personnel.
Demonstrated ability to supervise the work of subordinate staff.
Demonstrated ability to work and participate in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to work with fleet management systems relating to this position.
Demonstrated physical ability to perform the assigned duties.
Skill in the operation of all shop equipment, including forklift, skid steer, and tow truck.

Hours
Shift work, weekend and statutory holiday work are involved.
Salary
$29.31 to $31.89 per hour (2021 rates)
